Imports and enrichment
Bring data into Workbase and enrich records with structured, reviewable output.
Use imports to bring structured data into Workbase. Use enrichment when you need Workbase to research or fill specific fields with reviewable output.
Before importing
Do not start with the CSV. Start with the object.
Make sure the target object exists, important attributes are named clearly, required fields are understood, and duplicate handling is clear. A clean object model makes import review much easier.
Import checklist
-
Prepare the object
Confirm the target object and fields before uploading data.
-
Review columns
Map CSV columns to the correct attributes and ignore columns you do not want in Workbase.
-
Validate sample rows
Check a small sample for formatting, required values, and obvious duplicates.
-
Run the import
Import the data and review the result before teammates use it in workflows.
-
Create a review view
Use a view or list for records that need cleanup, enrichment, or owner review.
Enrichment guidance
Enrichment works best when the expected field is clear. Ask for a company domain, phone number, profile field, or sourced research result. Avoid broad requests that produce unclear output.
Research workflows should prefer source-backed answers and return structured results. If no reliable result exists, no result is better than a guess.
Data quality rules
- Keep original imported fields when they help with audit or cleanup.
- Use review fields for uncertain enrichment.
- Do not overwrite trusted data without a reason.
- Use relations instead of duplicating connected records.
- Create a cleanup list when imported data needs human review.
